{"id":1914,"date":"2013-07-28T06:04:46","date_gmt":"2013-07-28T12:04:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.myconstructionexpert.com\/blog\/?p=1914"},"modified":"2013-07-22T16:05:01","modified_gmt":"2013-07-22T22:05:01","slug":"georgia-pacific-primetrim-siding-product-rotting-shrinking-or-delaminating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myconstructionexpert.com\/blog\/georgia-pacific-primetrim-siding-product-rotting-shrinking-or-delaminating\/","title":{"rendered":"Georgia Pacific PrimeTrim Siding Product Rotting, Shrinking or Delaminating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>July 22, 2013<\/p>\n<p>The Construction Defect Center says, &#8220;If a homeowner knows for certain their home&#8217;s exterior window trim or fascia board is the Georgia Pacific PrimeTrim, and this specific type of wood trim, or fascia product has started to swell, delaminate, warp, shrink, or rot, we want to hear from them anytime, and these homeowners can be in any state, including California, Florida, New York, Washington, Ohio, North Carolina, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Arizona, or Illinois.&#8221; According to court records it is alleged the Georgia Pacific PrimeTrim siding product has a history of premature failures involving warping, delaminating, rotting, or shrinking. Court records also lead us to believe the alleged defective PrimeTrim fascia, or window trim failures could be a nationwide issue.&#8221; For more information homeowners whose home has the Georgia Pacific fascia, or window trim product called PrimeTrim are urged to contact the Construction Defect Center at 866-714-6466, especially if they have had problems with this specific window trim, or home fascia building product.<\/p>\n<p>The Construction Defect Center says, &#8220;According to court records, Georgia-Pacific\u2019s advertising claims that PrimeTrim can be installed \u201cwherever nonstructural wood trim can be used\u201d and that it does not have knots, splits, checks and wane. The company has also issued claims that PrimeTrim has four times more decay resistance than lumber; withstands direct sunlight better than lumber; and has more than 15 years of proven performance.&#8221; http:\/\/ConstructionDefectCenter.Com<\/p>\n<p>The Construction Defect Center says, &#8220;According to court documents it has been alleged Georgia Pacific&#8217;s PrimTrim trim board, or fascia boards may have the following types of specific issues:<\/p>\n<p>PrimeTrim trim board, that appears to be decayed, or has turned to a darker color<\/p>\n<p>PrimeTrim trim board, that is spongy feeling, or easy to push your finger into<\/p>\n<p>PrimeTrim trim board that has delaminated<\/p>\n<p>PrimeTrim trim board appears to be swollen<\/p>\n<p>PrimeTrim trim board that appears to be rotting, or has cracked.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Construction Defect Center says, &#8220;Court records indicate Georgia Pacific PrimeTrim fascia, or trim board was used in Florida, North Carolina, Massachusetts, California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas,and Colorado, so this is a national initiative especially focused on homeowners whose homes were built between 2001, and 2009.
