However, just because a contract ends does not mean the terms included in it should. They must be specific to particular elements and worded precisely. A contract that lacks proper survival clauses could put the survival of the entire business at risk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When does your contract need a survival clause?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Business owners should consult legal guidance to craft effective survival clauses when:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The business shares intellectual property, including processes,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wipo.int\/en\/web\/trade-secrets\/protection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">trade secrets or related information<\/a>, which the blog post mentioned above discusses further<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The business discloses confidential information, such as financial or client details, that is protected under a confidentiality clause or agreement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The parties involved must make payments or continue certain obligations included under the contract for a specific period of time\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, it is only natural for employees to have in-depth knowledge of a business\u2019 intellectual property.
